First of all, itcan cause extra-expenses and make this very complicated for them to list allthe ingredients on the menu, as its not only time consuming but also require to hire dedicated staff, which would be difficult for small establishments, because they might not survive financially. In other words, people might focus too much in calories and fat, rather than enjoy the meal, because detailed information may trigger people with anorexia, bulimia, or other eating issues. For example, if person with an eating problems might feel anxious or stressed when seeing the calorie content of a food, which could worsen their condition. As a result, this demand not only would be detrimental for restaurants, which eventually lead to closure, as they financial stability maybe affected, but also stressful for people with health issues.
However, I subscribe to the idea that disclose the nutritional vales brings more good than harm. One major benefits is that it could consciously affect on peoplet o choose healthier food, because when restaurants disclose nutritional information and indicate calories, fats, and sugar content, it can help peoplemake healthier choices instead of eating junk food. For example, in many countries, fast-food chains are required to display the calorie content of each dish, which help customers reduce their consumption of unhealthy food. As a result, serious health problems such as obesity might decline. Furthermore, It increases customers’ trust in restaurants.This means that transparency makes restaurants and food companies more reliable in the eyes of their customers.
