In this day and age, many people believe that it is easier to maintain a healthy lifestyle in cities, while others argue that living in the countryside offers many benefits. I firmly agree with the latter view.
On the one hand, the main benefit of living in a city is associated with advanced medical facilities. Cities usually have well-equipped hospitals and specialized doctors, which ensure individuals receive prompt treatment when they fall ill. Ambulance services in cities are also readily available, which is extremely important in emergency cases, especially when patients cannot reach hospital in a short time. For example, if people call an ambulance from countryside, it takes long time to arrive due to the considerable distance. This situation, in turn, can be detrimental to person’s precious health. Moreover, there are a number of job opportunities which can provide attractive remuneration. If people have sufficient money, they can afford gyms and parks, which play a key role in maintaining health.
On the other hand, despite the argument stated above, I still believe that living in the countryside brings numerous benefits. The primary one has to do with clean air, as there are many trees which can purify the air. Additionally, almost all factories are located in the city rather than the countryside. This also affects the air quality positively. Hence, rural dwellers have a lower risk of contracting respiratory diseases. The natural views of rural areas can reduce the stress, which significantly enhances productivity. For instance, the mountains, sounds of the birds, and peaceful atmosphere boost one’s mood.
To sum up, having discussed both positives and negatives of promoting healthy lifestyle in city and countryside, I am convinced that living in rural areas is of great importance and improves the lives of people.
