At present, social media sources are becoming pervasive, bringing some unpleasant circumstances to society. Personally, I feel the latter does have a negative impact on the surroundings, since it has a precise effect on individuals’ mental health, the lack of real-life communication, and dissatisfaction with the absence of things they do not own. Alternatively, social networks make it harder for students and employees to concentrate on their development.
Firstly, one of the most tremendous issues arising from the world network is vulnerability of mental health. It has several aspects. It is not a secret that instant messages are spreading worldwide, making people feel no necessity for visits. Certainly, it has an impact on their communication maneuvers. People no longer follow particular rules during socializing; they may be rough and ruthless to their partners, and worst of all is addiction to digital connection, or even a digital companion. Watching short videos, or so-called reels, is also worsening the psychological condition of recipients by introducing them to an ideal luxury life, therefore making them suffer from the absence of these happinesses.
Secondly, the implementation of social media into our lives tends to reduce the level of young people’s growth. The previously mentioned short videos impact their focus on study and work. The system of the latter is specialized to make viewers engrossed in their gadgets and postpone even urgent tasks. It can also have another approach. For instance, recently, people began to notice the correlation between advertisements. It implies that this system proposes to phone owners things they would like to have, thereby increasing their interest in the phone and making them forget about real-life aims and existence itself.
To sum up, although it is argued whether social media does or does not have an impact on people, I tend to consider that it affects our well-being. Not only is our mental health the most evident factor, but also a decrease in our concentration and growth.
