A considerable number of individuals believe that the main source of pollution in cities is cars, while others think the main causes are industries. Although cars create noise and air pollution, I believe the water pollutants and release of chlorofluorocarbons by industries are more responsible for environmental degradation.
To begin with, the quality of air is affected by the gas released by cars. Cars release harmful gases that mix with the air, which reduces the air quality, hampering the health of people. Moreover, noise pollution is created by vehicles in traffic congestion. This is because people get frustrated by waiting for a long time and start blowing horns, which disturbs peace. For instance, the junction near my house is always very noisy because of the people driving cars who keep blowing their horns.
On the other hand, the emission of chlorofluorocarbons can be seen from industrial sites. Chlorofluorocarbons are produced by factories that negatively affect the ozone layer, which restricts the harmful rays of the Sun. Likewise, water contamination is caused by factories. They throw all the wastes into water sources as it is easy and convenient, but dangerous for the animals living inside it. For example, Nepal has witnessed a decline in fish in previous years due to waste thrown in the rivers.
In conclusion, cars are responsible for creating noise and air pollutants, and industries for ozone layer depletion and water pollution. In my opinion, the biggest reason for environmental degradation is industries.
