The issue of most students who tend to study overseas to learn a foreign language has been observed in recent years. Some argue that it will bring positive influence which can help them to have better understanding about the language, while others claim that it will impacts the quality of the domestic education’s system. I contend that while both perspectives have their own benefits, the advantages of this situation outweigh the drawbacks.

To begin with, this implementation of how people choose to study in other regions might bring negative influences to their hometown’s education programs. This issue will lead to other problems when other students want to apply to this language program in their own countries, such as the trust issue. These students might think that the quality of the program is not as good as the quality when studying abroad. Moreover, this could impact the number of students experienced a significant decrease over time.

On the other hand, studying overseas may have several impacts on understanding the foreign language better. The greatest influence would be the effectiveness of learning. When travel abroad the programs will surely be provided and hosted by foreign people, so travelers would have to have possibilities to speak with native speakers everytime. Moreover, in the daily activity, the pupils would be force to speak in foreign language when they want to purchase groceries or clothes at the markets or shops.

In the meantime, the other advantage is the time students can learn about the cultures while studying the foreign language. It can help them to gain more experience about the country, which can improve their social skills. As a result, there might be some ideas that can be adopt when the travelers go back to their hometown.

In conclusion, while both views have their own merits, I am inclined to believe that the benefits of this situation outweigh the disadvantages. Students who prefer to study abroad may bring a negative impact to their hometown education’s system, but this outweigh by the benefits, such as the effectiveness of learning and the improvement of social skills by learning foreign’s culture.
