In the modern era, controlling criminal has become a serious issue for society. There are those who say that prison is the effective method to punish many offenders. In my opinion, I think criminals should be given community service, so in this essay I will give some reasons and provide my overall opinion.
There are two main reasons why the government use prison as a punishment. Perhaps the main reason is that authorities want to protect offenders from the society. To explain, the relevant organizations can control a few adverse behaviors which creates a better a living environment. For example, if people performs illegal actions, they will receive a prison sentence which enhances a person’s attitude and educates everyone in our community. Furthermore, offenders also get job training when they serve life imprisonment. This is because individuals will reform attitudes and behaviors, resulting in they having a job when they go back in the neighborhood with decreasing incidence of replase into criminal behavior.
From my perspective, there are some ways to reduce crime by exploring approaches. First and foremost, offenders can receive a community sentence rather than a custodial one. This is because they tend to create a good habitats to educate attitudes and behaviors. For instance, criminals will learn and deeply understand knowledge which can lead to the awareness of the individuals and prevent the problem of crime. In other words, being less punitive and opting for education can make it easier for offenders to reintagtiate into society. To elaborate, cities with more education leads to falling crime rates.
In conclusion, it must be said that controlling criminals has become a complex issue no easy solutions. However, I feel that the best way to reduce crime is by education. If the government implements this policy, it will provide a better life for future generations.
