On the one hand, e-books has become so popular in the last decade because of its convenience. Life is so fast-paced as people have less time to carry book or buy them from shops. So, instead they prefer to read online version of the books. Moreover, nowadays people even do not read by themeselves, they prefer audio books, where they just listen while they doing something else. For example, one study showes that most of university students prefer listening audio books while they are using transport.
Furthermore, digital books are cheaper than hard copies. So, many people want to save money and buying digital version of the books. In addition, environmental awarness is another major reason why digital books become so popular. Hard books needs paper, to making paper a large number of tress have to cut down every year. Which is detrimental for environment. This is why many people prefer to not buying paper books, they also encourage others to use e-books. Therefore, reading digital books also make it easy to summarise the books context with less time and people find it very interesting specially people who are doing research. On the other hand, many older generations cannot use the digital tools properly. They are comfortable with the traditional books. Another reason why some people prefer paper books is that it does not cause any eye strain problems as like e-books. However, these are not very big problems many older generations find it easy to use digital tools to improve their reading habits as well many digital tools also help to avoid eye related problems while reading. In conclusion, while there are some people who still use paper based books, the number decreasing day by day. This is because e-books are more affordable, comfortable other advantages. A large number of peoples shifting from hard copies to digital copies of books.
