Some people believe that a country cannot achieve economic development while concerning the environment, whereas others argue that both goals can be achieved simultaneously. This essay will discuss both opinions and present my own point of view.
Industrialization is often seen as a main threat to the environment, due to high levels of toxic gases from factories. The reason is that a large amount of carbon dioxide and other hazardous gases is released during the manufacturing process, which directly contributes to global warming and other lasting consequences. In other words, economic development is one of the major causes of environmental degradation. In Kazakhstan, for instance, heavy industrial activity has caused environmental damage, contributing to extreme weather conditions and biodiversity loss.
On the other hand, economic advancement does not necessarily have to come at the expense of environmental sustainability. By investment in renewable energy sources, such as solar power, the government can help a country reach sustainable growth while minimizing environmental harm. To illustrate, solar panels can provide clean energy for industrial use, decreasing carbon emissions and air pollution. Therefore, when the government begins to regulate how people use natural resources, the country’s economy will become sustainable, and the habitat destruction will become significantly less.
In conclusion, although industrial activities can harm the environment, this problem can be addressed through the mindful use of clean and sustainable energy sources. From my point of view, economic development and environmental protection can be mutually compatible, and through beneficial solutions, countries can achieve both goals.
