A large group of people perceives that the traditional educational system of lecturers and pupils in a classroom will be replaced by the year 2025. I think this is due to advancements in technology. However, I disagree on this matter, as I do not think AI technology can ever do as competent a job as a human being. Therefore, computerized teaching in the near future looks quite bleak!
Due to the rapid development in information technology, a lot of new innovations have benefited students to a large extent. These days, students have access to all the knowledge on the internet, and they can learn anytime they want. For instance, there are plenty of tutorials on YouTube, such as Khan Academy and Udemy, where students can find many resources to ease their learning. It saves a lot of time and energy.
However, I think the conventional educational system of educators and pupils in the classroom is still better. Nevertheless, technology does not have the wisdom to recognize the cognitive level of a person and will not be able to understand the emotional problems of a student. Children at a young age need a lot of attention and emotional support to guide them in the right direction toward their goals. For example, the number of young people between 13 and 18 committing suicide is increasing day by day. In Sikkim, in February 2025 alone, there were 4 young students who committed suicide, which is alarming. Computer tools cannot help them save their lives by taking care of their emotional constraints.
Therefore, no matter how much advancement in modern technology proceeds, there will always be a lack of morality that only teachers can provide. AI tools can never be able to provide the necessary advice on the mental health of children and give them the genuine emotional guidance they need. Love and care, with the physical touch of a person, can never be compared to an inanimate object! It will take a long way for modern science and technology to take the role of a teacher, particularly in the field of psychology. A classroom is not only a place to learn academic education; it is a place where children also learn to live in society. In a nutshell, online teaching can never replace classroom education!
