Nowadays the issue of litter on the streets or in green spaces, throwed by people, has become a serious problem in recent years. We should pay attention on this problem because of its damaging impact on environment. Considering the significant influence of it, only if the government and individuals will combine efforts, the issue will be solved.
The first point worth considering is that why rubbish on streets and in green spaces is a problem. Firstly, most of litter contains plastic and other substances, that have long period of degradation. As a result, this rubbish contaminates natural habitats or even poses a threat for animals. For instance, a single-use plastic often is throwed by children in park, so it leads to turtles or squirrels eating this plastic, mistaking it as food. Secondly, trash on streets attracts a lot of rats and flies. To put it differently, these types of animals transmit dangerous disease, such as: the plague, leptospirosis, dysentery. This demonstrates that the litter on the streets or in green spaces, throwed by people, is a huge problem.
Another important point is what we can do with this problem. From my perspective, the government is the important part of the solution. It should tackle this problem by introducing strict laws in environment policy. For example, there should be fine for throwing away something in parks and entrance fee for touristic companies. These measures will not only prevent dumping wastes but will let hire more civil servants for controlling this situation. Equally important is individual’s contribution in solving this problem. We have to passe down to our kids rules in parks or on streets. Unless they know damaging impact of actions, like a dropping latter, our future generations will not have the opportunity for healthy life. Therefore, it is clear that there a lot of solutions for this problem.
In conclusion, the problem is becoming increasingly serious and it can be addressed by jointing efforts.
