The issue of reliance on artificial intelligence tools by many students for assignments has become a serious concern in modern society. This concerning situation can be primarily attributed to taking results in faster and easier way and alleviating hardship. However, there are certain steps that universities can take to address this problem.
To begin with, one of the primary causes of this problem is that students, particularly the younger ones are inclined to achieve faster results in a simpler way. This is mainly because they study more than one subjects in one semester and they do not enough time to do all assignments before the deadlines, especially those who work and study at the same time. Furthermore, another significant factor is avoiding hardship in learning of subjects. In other words, progressing through university, the subjects become more complicated and require more research and hard work, results in students avoiding difficulties. For example, students who learn law have to know lots of rules and policies, since they learn them quickly and prevent hours of search, they use AI tools.
In order to tackle this issue, several measures can be taken. Firstly, universities should organize campaigns to assist students to solve difficult problems in person using experts help, and reward-based competitions for independent creativity that leads to promote students engage in studying without AI use. Additionally, universities should implement stricter regulations to copy any information given by AI tools. By doing so, students will work harder to receive better marks at university. For instance, if professors praise students’ effort to work independently and punish them for cheating, students try to use AI tools properly. As a result, these solutions would significantly reduce the negative impacts of rely heavily on AI. Therefore, combination of these measures is likely to be the most effective strategy.
In conclusion, reliance on AI tools by students is a serious issue caused by factors such as students’ intention of getting faster results and avoiding hardship. However, by implementing solutions like rewarding students for working independently and launching stricter regulations by universities, this problem can be effectively addressed.
