Band 4+: Many today feel that attention spans are becoming shorter due to the prevalence of social media. To what extent do you agree or disagree?

Some parts of society think that it is get harder to focus on things due to excessive use of social media. I am totally agree with statement, and this essay will discuss reasons behind this trend.

Firstly, it is fact that many people can not imagine their life without their phones especially because of the influence of social media. These ones always on the line with their subscribers and upload all their daily activities to their page and stories. Therefore, every notification on their phones can easily distract their focus due to interest of the reviewing comments and likes.

Secondly, there is other type of individuals who have bad habit of often reviewing what is new on social media at their pleasure time. These ones often face the problem of concentration while doing tasks. This addiction happens due to dopamine scarcity while doing exercises. Some scientist calls this type of happiness hormone as a cheap dopamine. They describe it like when the level of dopamine is getting lover in our blood while doing exercises brain start to signal us for the new dose by eating something or for the easiest one by checking what’s new on phone.

In Conclusion, social media can easily affect the concentration problem of people due to notifications and bad habit of getting cheap dopamine.
