Due to tremendous growth in technology and a tough time like the COVID-19 pandemic in recent years, online education has increased rapidly. Many universities and coaching academies have been providing online learning along with traditional classes to improve their business and reach students. In my opinion, it has both negative and positive effects on the learning of the students.
On the one hand, traditional classes have always been a system of education in the world, and they have also proven their efficiency. The main advantage of traditional classes is that a teacher is paying attention to the students as well as to the teaching. Also, students can ask teachers questions in person whenever they feel like asking. Students also learn with other students, which builds friendship among them, and they learn to socialize with other people. Coming to the disadvantages, sometimes going to classes takes a lot of time and energy. Also, students need to either shift to a hostel or go abroad in order to be a part of traditional classes.
On the other hand, online classes have proven to be a great way to answer these difficulties. As students don’t need to be physically present, they can learn from anywhere and at any time. Also, it saves hostel and commutation fees, contributing to making it cheaper. Coming to the drawbacks of this, no teacher knows what a student is doing during online classes. The mind can get distracted too easily as students have a smartphone or laptop. Also, if students miss the lecture, then they will get a recorded lecture for the same, which is good, but if any doubt arises, then they may not be able to solve it in person with the teacher.
In conclusion, when it comes to what the government should prioritize, then in my opinion, they should definitely do it, but still, more focus should be on the traditional classes as government schemes should take everyone into account. While concluding, I would say that every tech innovation has its benefits and drawbacks, but it is in our hands how we use it.
