It is indisputable that the advancement in the technology, specifically phones and computers, has revolutionized from youths live to the way they tend to spend their leisure time. In turn, this trend is making more and more people, particularly adolescents, being involved in playing video games. Personally, I hold the view that this inclination seems to be a double-edged sword, meaning that it can be both beneficial and detrimental in equal measure.
To start with, the idea of playing video games lies with several benefits, the primary one of which would be magnifying cognitive abilities. To look at it from a different angle, not only can being engaged in such kinds of games give a helping hand for children to be able to expand their knowledge by playing diverse quizzes but also it is a valid approach for them to evolve decision-making skills with the help of specific games, which are designed to test youths’ quick responding and out-of-the-box thinking. For instance, while playing computer games, youngsters should advance their levels as they have to take decisions straight away on their own, resulting in mental growth. Further and more importantly, there is a high plausibility that playing electronics games could offer a chance for juveniles to entertain themselves. To be more precise, gaming, in all likelihood, will provide a sense of relaxation and stress relief, which allows children to escape from their daily pressures, as a result of which thousands of teenagers would prefer to take part in online games as it is regarded as an enjoyable pastime.
That being said, there is no escaping the fact that this growth also has its downsides, such as miendiring time ane being isolated. Regarding the former opinion of mine, nowadays, it is ubiquitous to observe the vast majority of adolescents being accustomed to playing games from early mornings to late nights without working on themselves or participating in extracurricular activities, leading them to wasting their own precious time, which ought to be spent advantageously, for useless things. As for the latter one, this tendency might have a negative influence on the social interactions of youngsters. To elaborate further, it is highly possible that spending an extended period of time sitting in front of the screen and playing video games could impact the way children socialize as they might not have face-to-face interactions, thereby contributing to loneliness, not to mention deterioration of eyesight.
Having taken all the highlighted aspects above into consideration, I concluded that even though it may propose numerous merits like progressing their wisdom, along with presenting amused, on the other hand, I strongly believe that it may steal their valuable time and effect social interactions. Personally, I would suggest youths manage keeping the balance prior to plunging into a virtual life.
