Many people think that the most effective method to deal with traffic and pollution issues is boosting the higher cost of petrol. Personally, I completely disagree with this statement and this essay will illustrate some different solutions for this problem and elaborate on why I disagree.
To begin with, there are some reasons why increasing the price of gasoline is not suitable to cope with environmental degradation and traffic growth. With the rapid growth in the global population, there are more and more vehicles produced to afford the high demand of people. It means that while the price of gasoline rises, the number of drivers as well as means of transport does not seem to decline. Moreover, the rising petrol cost also affects other society problems such as commodity prices because of the high cost of fossil fuel during the delivery process. Hence, this can be negative influence on citizenss’s daily life.
In addition, finding alternative power to change the use of petrol for vehicles is a more effective way to deal with air pollution issues. In this day and age, many car manufacturing companies have invented electronic automobiles run by battery or solar power, which can reduce the amount of fumes from traditional cars or motorbikes and create a fresher air. Furthermore, the government should encourage people to use more public transport to travel in order to decrease the rising level of traffic jams.
In conclusion, for these aforementioned reasons, I believe that raising the cost of gasoline is not the best way to mitigate the deteriorating air quality and traffic growth. This can be tackled by using public transport and eco-friendly power such as electricity and solar energy.
