Robbery and theft are considered to be one of the major crimes that can be seen in different parts of the world these days – I believe that poverty and poor government policies are the root causes for this such crimes and how by balancing the levels of poverty and if the authorities take strict action against the criminals , this problem can be curteled.
There are number of causes that are linked with crimes such as robbery and theft. Firstly, poverty is assumed to be the major one. As poor people spend their life in hand mouth situation.Take an example of Turkey, where during the economic meltdown in 2009, almost 17% of total population reached to the lowest level of poverty due to which crimes rates street crimes which includes robbery and theft are increased to 50% within 2 years. Thus, poverty is the driving force in this issue.
Secondly, because of mismanagement of the leaders , no structured rules and regulations are strict enough to be taken against criminals within time.So, this problem led criminals to do crimes more frequently. For instance, according to the article published in local newspaper of South Korea the crimes like robbery and theft will be double because of their weak laws . Hence , bad performance by governance is also associated with this trouble .
However, there are certain viable measures that can be taken to curb this barrier. The primary solution I believe would be to deal with poverty by decreasing it’s level can giving jobs and good salaries to employees, this will significantly reduce crimes. Furthermore, another effective solution would be to improve policies of government.As strong actions against criminals can control such crimes.
To sum up , even though poverty and bad policies by the authorities are wide spread in many countries, but I believe that through better government schemes and decreasing levels of poverty this trouble can be tackled.
