These days, a growing number of people are capable of working at home due to the advances in technology. While this offers a few advantages, there are also some disadvantages which are worth considering.
I believe working from home comes with two benefits. The first positive side, which is at the top of the list, is that working hours can be arranged according to other plans. In other words, workers working at home can change their plans and have not to work in front of a computer or other electronic equipment for whole days which affects their health in negative ways such as being pain in the eyes, making improvements in their physical well-being by following a healthy lifestyle. Furthermore, this way is about to save your time and costs that are always wasted for commuting to a workplace. It would be better if most workers that have other important responsibilities after their work time have plenty of time to do those.
Having said that, working from home is not without its demerits, one of which is that this trend may led to problems with social skills and friendliness. In fact, this lack of community and teamwork can impact mental well-being and may hinder opportunities for networking and professional development. For example, employees having dissimilar duties wouldn’t know each other unless they appeared capable of meeting. Moreover, a further obstacle is the potential for distractions ranging from household responsibilities to the noises from the surrounding environment. As a consequence, you cannot collect your thoughts and complete the tasks on time. As a matter of fact, employees might often laze around and take frequent breaks, resulting in longer and less work time when the breaks and work go unmonitored.
To conclude, despite the fact that one can take advantages of working at home such as convenient working hours and saving time and expenses, its drawbacks like the lack of social interaction and distractions from finishing work on time is not to be underestimated.
