Majority of people are capable to do their work from home in modern times. While this offers many advantages, there are also some disadvantages which are worth considering.
There are a lot of benefits that people can get by working from home. In the first place, the amount of time that people spend on commute can be saved by working from home. As a consequence, it apparently saves time and energy significantly. Moreover, people who work from home can thrift their money because they don’t have to pay extra money for transportation. In addition, working from home can cause positive effect on environment. For instance, if people use less on public transportation, it can reduce the carbon dioxide emission of cars, buses and trains, etc.
In contrary, there are some drawbacks from working home. For example, there can be lack of office equipment and technical staffs in home. As a result, the productivity and efficiency of work can be decreased due to the necessity of equipment. Furthermore, people can suffer solitude and loneliness because of isolation and lack of social interaction with other colleagues. Consequently, this can cause negative effect on mental health and later it can lead into mental depression.
In conclusion, people working from home can save time, money and energy and the world’s environment can be also benefited due to the lesser use of oil and petroleum. However, it can also reduce the productivity of work due to lack of office equipment and it can cause mental health issue because of isolation. Therefore, it is necessary to weigh the benefits against the drawbacks carefully before planning to work from home.
