Nowadays, a rising number of young people show anti-social behaviour and a more of disrespect for others. This trend often leads them to possess other negative behaviours, like lack of communication skill and had a lot of negative thinking. In my opinion, there are two reasons that trigger teenagers to do that kind of habits.
To begin with, an advanced in technology, in the term of smartphone and online game, often make them spent their time in their own room alone with their gadgets and do not want to do another activity outside the room or house. As a result of this habit, they become more comfortable with their ‘me time’ and tend to felt disturbing if someone else (even their own family member) that tried to came into their personal space. That leads to another problem. They then tend to disrespect to others, by yelling or curse at someone that irritated them.
In addition, family condition often be the reason why these behaviours appear. When these adolescence raises in the environment that lack of love and communication, they tend to be young people with the close personality and they rarely share their emotion and feeling. Sometimes it make other people misunderstand them and triggered them to have these negative behaviours as their personal protection.
I believe we can do something to reduce this problem. As an older people we can guide these teenagers by invite them politely to do some activities together outside the house to build connection again with them. We can ask them about their daily activities so we gradually built good communication with them again.
