In this day and age, youngsters have to live at a very fast pace, making their time at home lessened. It is because they aim to prioritise their work and social lifestyle, which can have many effects on both individuals and society. In this essay, I would explain the reasons associated with this issue before highlighting some possible results.
There are two main motivations related to this tendency, which are young people’s work demands and social lifestyle. Firstly, people tend to end their working day later. As technology has become more advanced, more tasks and scope of work need to be handled. As a result, companies which lack human resources push their employees to work overtime. Moreover, youth often lead active and social-oriented lives. They not only prefer engaging in social events but are also eager to pursue their interests such as sports and soft skills. Despite their busy schedule, they usually organise to attend these outdoor activities in the evenings after their working hours or weekends, causing a massive loss in time they stay at home.
This problem causes many effects on the individuals as well as their society. First of all, for the consequences on individuals, people will have opportunities to experience personal growth and diverse circumstances. As the youth have to handle extra deadlines and take jobs, they can be more mature and experienced, helping their business ladder grow faster. However, with such a tight schedule, people will have less time for personal care and family bonds, creating disconnections with the important relationships.
Secondly, this issue also contributes to the economic growth of the society. On the one hand, by staying out of home, individuals have to spend on local’s restaurants, coffee shops, and transportation to fulfill their basic needs, contributing to increasing the country’s overall consumer spending. This practice, on the other hand, places pressure on the environment due to higher public infrastructure use and consumption level.
In conclusion, because of work demands and lifestyle, people have managed to be away from home, leading to numerous outcomes for individuals and society in both positive and negative ways. While people would develop quicker in their career path, they have to sacrifice the time spent for themselves and their family. Similarly, although higher use in public features increase the total expenditure rate, it can bring various environmental impacts.
