Band 5+: Nowadays, many schools find it profitable to sell unhealthy food and sugary drinks to students during lunch breaks. Is this a positive or negative development?

Note: Both the topic and the essay were created by one of our users.

Recently, most schools make more revenue from selling food and sugary drinks that are not healthy to student during lunch break. In this essay, I will discuss how their profitable business on the sales of unhealthy victuals in school affects the student’s health and their health education lessons.

Junk food and drink causes health issues. The high consumption on unhealthy victuals by students in schools is not beneficial to their health. “Although”, vendors aim is to make huge profit from selling junks to students. However, they should consider the health of the pupils and sell healthy food and drinks alternatives to students. A recent study found discovered that, lot of student in institution are faced with various health challenges such as diabetes and tumors in the stomach because of intake of sugary food, drinks, and fatty food consumption.

It affects nutritional education lessons. These lessons being taught in schools portrays how students are meant to live a healthy lifestyle by eating the right food and drinks that is a great benefit to their body. Therefore, if there is a high rate of selling junk foods and drinks in school, the students will not take health educational course seriously. Furthermore, the institutions imposing restrictions to food and drinks vendors not to sell unhealthy victuals but rather healthy meals and drinks.

To conclude, I supported that schools selling unhealthy foods and high sugar content drinks to students is a negative development due to the fact that, it create various health challenges and some students won’t take nutritional education being taught in school seriously
