In this fast-paced world where everything has become competitive having one’s own time is a necessity. Shopping can be a way in which the youth can let their hair down for a bit. Thus, I strongly disagree with the fact that young people spending their free time in shopping centers can have any negative effects on youth and society.
As I have mentioned above, young people are juggling time for work, studies, family or for any loved ones. Amidst all this one forget to spend time with oneself. Going to a shopping center, picking up something that matters to you is a great way to spend time with oneself. For instance, shopping centers have book stores, coffee shops, cinema to entertain oneself. The age where mental health issues are a concern, shopping can be an activity to let oneself loose. A mentally healthy population of youth is always the backbone of the society.
The act of buying something will always bring a smile on the person’s face. Shopping centers are thus a place of celebration and joy. Furthermore, you will always witness people in groups in shopping centers having the time of their lives. For example, consider a wedding shopping. The whole family comes together to buy and gift things to each other and energy is usually infectious.
On the other hand, shopping is a way of boosting economy of a country. More the purchasing power of the youth, more is the supply of goods. This ensures lowering the rate of unemployment and also accelerates economy. Shopping centers also boost the youth to start their own businesses.
In conclusion, the fact that shopping centers can provide us to be a means of amusement and business should prove the fact these are not a negative impact on youth and society.
