Advantage And Disadvantage

Band 5+: Nowadays, mobile phones and the internet have become increasingly important in people's social life. What are the advantages and disadvantages of this?

Note: Both the topic and the essay were created by one of our users.

Mobile phones and the internet have begun to play a significant role in people’s lives in recent times. The advantages of modern technologies are numerous, however they are balanced by negative consequences in people’s social lives.

One distinct benefit of becoming devices popular around individuals is that it would be easier to educate. In other words, nowadays people are able to study from day to day, wherever they are. It is not at all necessary to attend classes at school or university, students may connect lectures with the help of the internet and mobile phones. Another positive aspect of using phones is that it would be more convenient to communicate with friends, siblings and even foreign people. For instance, international students who study abroad far from their family could easily communicate with relatives with the help of FaceTime or other social networks.

However there are always two sides of cones. Conversely, there are clear drawbacks to using the internet and mobile phones. Firstly, with the popularisation of smartphones individuals started suffering from cyber fraud. Many Internet users complain about leaks of personal data, as well as fraud in online stores or on dating sites. These problems are accompanied by using modern technologies. Thus, it is crucial to watch out for the negative side effects of living in the technological world.

Put it in nutshell, I pen down saying that widespread use of mobile phones and the internet affects on people’s daily routine; it is undeniable that there are important benefits to use such devices. However, they are largely balanced by the inconvenients and potential risks of such technologies.
