Band 4+: Nowadays, more and more younger people need to compete with older people for same jobs. What problems does this cause? What would you suggest as a solution?

Note: Both the topic and the essay were created by one of our users.

In today’s world, as the competition among qualified candidates increases about particular jobs. However, the elders also target similar job markets. There are various reasons for this situation, that will be elaborated in this essay, followed by some suggestions for an improvement.

First of all, the increasing trend of social media in the younger generation is creating a job market on these websites; like, YouTube, TikTok, and Instagram etc. People are chasing the latest trends, so is the case with the older ones. Moreover, lack of experience about a particular job in young people is also affecting their chances. The case is getting worse globally especially after COVID-19, for every industrial sector. Furthermore, companies are in need of someone who can reflect on the past and provide the solution in a jiffy. Due to this reason, a handful of fresh graduates are unemployed in the whole world.

The case can get better by focusing on practical skills more, during the studies, rather relying on theoretical knowledge. This can be by the introduction of up-to-date technology and machinery in educational institutes. For example, most of the equipment used for demonstration purposes in engineering universities is outdated. Another solution can be financial education at a very young age, that can polish the market research skills of a student. Moreover, governments should focus on new developments and projects that can enhance the economy of the country and also provide new job opportunities for people of all ages.

To conclude, I would say the young generation must pay attention to the practical work, instead of wasting their time on useless social media sites.
