In the modern days, socialising over the Internet is preffered more than real person to person converstations. In my opinion, this is a positive development since we live in an era that we became so busy and cannot waste any time. And also people have friends and family members all over the world, which they need to communicate with.
The main reason why I think this is a positive case is unavaiability of time. From the twentieth century the world became a place that ones who work and also tries to go out in every occasion failed to maintain their work and life balance. For example, most of the people who failed to have a good life standards are those who were outgoing from their young ages. Therefore Internet created a safe and relaxed environment to socialise and communicate with your friends while having a long and exhausting day.
Secondly, there are many people who does not have enough chances to visit their close family members who work or study abroad. With the help of online communication, they can talk their relatives and get the latest news from them. For instance, many parents send their children to study abroad. Assuming that they do not have enough funding to buy plane tickets, if it was not for the Internet, they probably would not be able to communicate or even hear the voice of their children. So, for the long-distance communications, Internet is essential.
In conlusion, the use of Internet for communication is a good thing, since it allows people not to waste any time and talk to their relatives who they can not see or talk in the real life.
