Recently, scholars have been deciding to not pursue a career with science courses in their higher educational institituion in a plethora of nations. The reasons behind this problem is that students are much more interested in liberal arts and many students do not want to spend numerous years learning the STEM courses. There are many advanges as well as drawbacks to this descion, such as more interest in the literature and humanities. On the other hand, we will lack the skilled workforce in the STEM fields.
Many university scholars end up choosing courses associated with humanities and liberal arts rather than science and math. Liberal arts and humanities are a much more flexibile course allowing the pupils to freely express themselves. It is a course where the students can apply creative thinking skills. For example, my friends enjoy thinking critically about how society works without worrying about what rules they have to oblige to like they have to do in science classes.
Unfortunately, there are much more drawbacks to this than the advantages. Although, there will be a increased working class people in the field of humanities creating a better society, it would not help us in the technological and scientific side of the world. There will not be enough people knowledgable in science and maths in the future. In the long run, there will be tremendous drawbacks to this desicion.
In conclusion, scholars not choosing science related courses allow for the students to have a much more flexible course but having drawbacks such as a low workforce in science courses.
