Nowadays, it has become more common among individuals that a large number of people to believe that online learning is more significant than traditional classroom learning. This essay will examine the advantages and disadvantages of online learning.
One major advantage is that online learning is flexible at any time, anywhere. Many learners can use online learning without worrying about long hours of commuting. They can only stay where they are and start learning. It does not need specific study materials, with having only a mobile phone, a laptop, or an iPad; they can join the online classes and start their studies. For example, when someone wakes up late and he/she has a class, if it is a face-to-face class, they already miss the class, but whenever it is an online meeting, they can immediately join without any stress or spending time getting ready or going far away. Another positive effect is that we can use it during our journeys.
On the other hand, the negative effect is being in the class, but most of the time not focusing on it. Sometimes it is like this that some students join the class, and during the lecture, they do their own work as well. It is like this that they only want to made atendence. If these kinds of actions happen on long term, it will affect our education system badly. For instance, one of the lecturers said that he had online and offline classes. The efficiency of face-to-face was more than online because his students were very active during the traditional learning, but when he did it online, almost all the students were inactive.
In conclusion, although online learning has many benefits, such as saving time and money, it also has negative effects, like loss of focus and inactivity.
