In contemporary society, more and more people nearing retirement tend to live in senior communities. I believe this is a favorable trend as living in these places brings many benefits such as providing physical and mental health as well as help reduce stress for their busy adult children.
Firstly, having enough physical and mental care on site is essential to live longer and more comfortably as elder people become vulnerable with their age. Therefore, they require special care which can generally be provided only by high-qualified staff. In addition to this, seniors have opportunity to socialize with their peers that can lowers the risk of dimentia. It is a sharp contrast with living ever-busy adult children who may let their parents to feel isolated. The study shows that retirement communities help to 86% elder people for living enjoyable by providing amenities.
Secondly, adult children are released the feeling of guilty that does not adequate care to their parents through retirement communities. Such communities give the chance to keep family bond despite the distance. Adult children can look after their parents whenever they want. As it is concidered that investing time for parents is important to save strong relationship between parent and child. According to research in South Korea, 78% of people say that they can live in such places without feeling of abandoned by meeting up their children frequently.
In conclusion, I strongly believe such facilities are beneficial for both seniors and adult children, as being healthy and reside longer are easy by such communities and they assist to reducing busy life stress.
