Physical education has always been reflected as a standard criteria in the school system to assure that students must balance gaining sufficient exercises with learning academic knowledge. Nevertheless, it has recently been attributed to the subsidiary subject group by some parents’ perception, as they suppose that their children could have fulfilled more essential assignments without the PE curriculum. In my case, I strongly believe that PE classes are founded with elaborate purposes for students’ ability. Therefore, these looming paragraphs below would contain apparent reasons for this argument.
At the very first stage, It is definitely irrefutable that PE plays a crucial role in helping students to maintain physical health while also promoting their creativity and collaboration with their classmates. Some sports like badminton, soccer, and basketball can enhance individual physical aspects, such as building body balance, building muscle, raising the height and enhancing the stamina with strength to pursue the goals that students have decided. Concurrently, these sports promote the students’ dexterity, high concentration, advanced techniques with the appropriate strategy to beat over the opponents. Besides benefiting physical fitness, the team mate game simultaneously facilitates the collaboration, communication and interaction skills between students to take the highest reward. Through these assemblings, the bonding between students will definitely be tightened, and students will express better performance in the next lesson. For particular students, rather than engaging in sports which require high training intensity with good physical fitness, they can enjoy more brainstorming games like chess, billiards,… to enhance their profound strategy with technical skills. Some research determines that these sports can increase the students intelligence in problem solving, better calculation with enough patience even in the learning environment. In addition, these sports are optional so that every student can discover their own ability and likely to search out their passion in these sports.
Secondly, PE also trains children to keep their own principles while delivering more passion for children to get involved in these activities. Students besides cramming for academic theories can also spare themself some extra hours to enjoy. Accordingly, PE offers numerous leisures activities with free access for students to select in order to engage in appropriate sport that is consistent with the student’s aptitude. Consequently, PE inculcates good habits for children, promoting them to set up their own self-discipline and persistence in following their target and simultaneously maintain a better physical fitness for themself. It is not only a physical lesson but also requires the discipline of each student in every work to gain their deserved rewards. In summary, Learning PE motivates children to have more relaxation for mental health associated with body strength while also diversifying their relationship with other students.
Some parents might argue that children at a certain age would acquire their spontaneous awareness of their body healthcare. They say that children should be entitled to participate in PE without the limitation of mandatory state. Moreover, some students with only academic interests may face some obstacles when doing the physical exercises. These students can also become a potential target for bullies activities. However, I
In conclusion, the physical education mandatory advantages for students to develop themself has undeniably prevailed over their disadvantages on students’ performance. It’s not only maintaining students’ physical health with some soft essential skills and creativity of students in either individual or team sports, but it also promotes students to keep in pace with their favorite sport and educates them to have their own principles and responsibility including coping with obstacles in any situation.
