Due to the technological developments and cheaper transportation, travelling has become more accessible and budget-friendly than ever before. In my opinion, this is a favorable change as it allows people to explore new cultures and gain new experience despite some pertinent drawbacks.
Travelling brings about several issues which may become more several unless urgent measures are taken. First and foremost, road and transport accidents are increasing in urban and rural areas which often involve tourists who are not familiar with local rules. These people may break rules unintentionally, increasing the risk of serious accidents. Since tourism industry is a major economic driver in many countries, government ignores or pays little to no attention to these problems. Such regular incidents occurring within cities and countryside worsen the quality of life, making the place unsafe to live and travel.
Despite this, I consider it to be a positive trend. Travelling is undoubtedly an enriching and practical activity which people have been involved in for centuries, even the horses and camels were the only means of transport. One main benefit of traveling to foreign countries is that people can learn about new cultures and improve their understanding. Such cultural knowledge enhances individual’s horizon and critical thinking, becoming a well-shaped member of the society. Furthermore, travelling is a life experience which people are unable to discover by textbooks or written documents. When people visit a new country for the first time, they struggle to communicate or understand local rules. Yet, this does not last long, people overcome their shyness to ask local people for directions or restaurants where they can dine. Such regular practices make people more confident and open to social circumstances.
In conclusion, while traveling poses some challenges for the nations, I believe it is a positive development. Therefore, people should arrange more trips to the places where they can explore cultures and learn through fun.
