Band 4+: Nowadays, we are producing more and more rubbish. Why do you think this is happening? What can government do to help reduce the amount of rubbish produced?

Without any shade of doubt people nowadays are consuming more products than the past which led to producing a huge amount of waste, that harm the environment which caused severe damage to the surrounding environment, yet that issue could be mitigated if citizens and governments cooperated to eliminate the rout cause of that issue and find proper solutions that will be effective and will improve the surrounding inhabitant.

People became more consumerists since the beginning of the industrial revolution and due to the effect of the capitalism people became more consumers than being productive comparing to the past when people used to produce their own food using the crops they cultivate or eating animals they raise in their own properties, however currently the situation is completely changed as people go shopping and it happens that they might buy stuff they don’t need or they purchase more than what they need ,that happens due to the effect of the capitalism that non rational behavior of purchasing and collecting stuff that we don’t need caused a lot of waste and garbage that might be out of control to rid of especially that there are a lot of substance and materials that can’t be decomposed such as plastic.

Recently many governments have acknowledged the danger that threatens our planet when they had noticed the increase of the pollution and the contamination of the water resources due to the behavior of individuals , they started to criminalize and prohibit throwing any material in the rivers or oceans, and it’s the responsibility of the establishment such as factories and farms to get rid of their waste by finding a way that won’t cause any damage to the earth, in addition the campaigns been launched spreading the knowledge of the importance of recycling which will definitely eliminate the amount of produced waste.

In conclusion, we have to be more aware and responsible when it comes to our consumption behavior as it isn’t not only impacting our financial situation but also the surrounding creatures that live on our planet.
