In today’s fast paced and globalized world it is becoming increasingly popular that young individuals have enough knowledge about international pop stars and movies stars but they are unaware about the famous individuals in their own country and their history as well, there can be many reasons behind this. This essay will explore the reason and a solution to solve this problem. The primary reason is that the young generation doesn’t get to see much of their own culture due to lack of exposure. Many parents don’t focus on their children’s life or in what they are upto this leads to negligence about the historical knowledge in one’s own country. The only place they learn about those is in early stage of their school life. For instance, if a child grows up in a household where parents doesn’t discuss or celebrate national events such as Independence day, the child may enter school with little or no knowledge about these topics. Moreover, in a developing country like Bangladesh, the local industry doesn’t have enough films, music or art to grasp the attention of people. As a result, the young people don’t feel connected to their nation.
In order to solve this problem, parents should spend more time to teach their children about their country’s origin and struggles it faced. They should also take them to visit historical places so they feel more connected. Additionally, the media of every country should publicize their local celebrities more than focusing on foreign ones. The film and music should make more creative content targeting the younger ones.
In conclusion, it is important to understand young generations and to employ tactics to increase their exposure to culture and traditions of their own country.
