Nowadays, the phenomenon of over-fishing consequently extinction of many species that also has a bad effect on the livelihood of fishers. This essay will present possible causes of this phenomenon as well as the solution to stop or improve this appreciation.
To begin, one of the main causes of over-fishing is the factory fishing is the main factory of this phenomenon because of the huge of activities and catching many species which are rare, For example, the sea turtle. Either way, many areas are not protected by laws and it’s hard to control it by the government. Secondly, the government did not get enough publicity. For instance, in my country we do not have enough publicity to awareness people to stop this illegal fishing. However, this problem of extinction can damage the livelihoods of many fishers because of a shortage of species.
Therefore, there are various solutions to avoid this problem. Firstly, the government should impose stricter regulations to protect the fish species. For instance, it’s not allowed to fish in the breeding season. If they did not respect the law, they would be banned or pay taxes. Secondly, legal fishing provides a return for the government due to the taxes. Third, governments and companies can raise public awareness due to the media or publicity to avoid illegal fishing. A good illustration of this is when brands create a campaign marketing awareness to let fisher follow the rules and respect the environment. Finally, government should control the production of industry and the activity of fisher to contain livelihoods and ensure food security besides working to conserve ecosystems.
To conclude, over-fishing poses a threat to the number of species of fish that can also pose a danger for many lives of fishers, so governments should make many regulations to protect the oceans and the livelihood of many people.
