Some people believe that it is more important to preserve old buildings instead of replacing them with modern buildings. I partly agree with this opinion, in spite of the fact that old buildings have value of time, modern buildings are also needed for development.
One significant reason why many people support this idea is that keeping and maintaining old buildings is important for culture and history. Many old buildings which show the history and the beauty of a country, helping everyone understand how people in the past lived. In addition, historic buildings can attract tourists, this bring many benefits to local people. For example, many cities earn money from tourists who travel to see ancient buildings or traditional houses. Therefore, it is understandable why many people support this idea.
On the other hand, it is equally reasonable to argue that replacing old buildings with modern can be more practical in some cases. Old structures usually need money to repair usually and may not be safe for people who live around them because they are too old. However, modern buildings are designed to be safer and suitable for needs nowadays. A common example of this is provide more apartments or houses, especially in cities where many people need a house to live. Thus, this perspective also carries considerable weight.
In conclusion, while old buildings should be protected because of culture and history, I believe that modern buildings are also necessary for country development. Moreover, the government should be balanced between preserving old structures and building new.
