Nowadays, people believe that old buildings should be demolished and replaced with modern structures, as they are seen as more practical and efficient. I both agree and disagree with this statement because, in my view, both sides have strong arguments.
On the one hand, people are replacing old buildings with modern ones argue that new structures are more functional and safer, because many old buildings were constructed decades ago and often fail to meet current safety standards, such as fire resistance and earthquake protection, but modern buildings are designed using advanced technology and materials which makes them more durable. For example, built residential many new buildings include modern fire alarm systems and stronger foundations, which greatly improve safety.
On the other hand, demolishing old structures produces a large amount of construction waste and consumes natural resources, which can harm the environment. In addition, historical and culturally significant buildings often attract tourists from around the world, because tourists come to see architecture and museums. For example, many tourists visit cities like Xiva or Samarqand specifically to explore their ancient buildings and historical monuments , so demolishing these buildings could cause economic damage.
In conclusion, while old buildings have historical and cultural value, I believe modern buildings are safer, more comfortable and more economical.
