It is well said that, if an individual wants to learn something new, he/she has to live with people who already possess that particular skill. A lot of people believe that the best method to learn English is to migrate to an English-speaking country, while others think there are several other ways to get the required knowledge of English language. This essay will shed light upon some compelling arguments which favors the first notion.
To commence, reasons why people argue regarding shifting to English countries are as follows. Firstly, a person can easily get to the core of the skill and acquire it quickly if he/she gets the opportunity to practise it daily. In other words, residing in English-speaking countries helps non-English speakers to improve their pronunciation and accent by talking to the native speakers. For example, a recent survey from The BBC concluded that immigrants living in countries such as the USA, The United Kingdom have a good control and flow of English compared to those people living in their home country.
No doubt, a large number of people are also good English speakers while living in their home country, this is because teachers generally provide tip and tricks to students and these strategies help learners to easily comprehend the basics of English. However, to get major improvement in vocabulary, accent and listening, the better option is to live with native speakers.
To sum up, there is not even a shadow of doubt that a person can learn English by not choosing to migrate to other places. Nevertheless, if someone gets a chance to learn English with local speakers, he/she should not refuse it.
