Some individuals argue that modern life has made people more stressful, while others believe that it provided people with better quality of life. This essay will discuss both views.
On the one hand, modern life has completely changed people’s perception of the world. Most of the time people spend a lot of time using their phones and computers, which may negatively affect their mental health. Research show that people who spend less time on their phones are calmer and more relaxed in their minds. Additionally, social media has made a huge impact on people’s perception of their lives. Social media has forced upon people the idea that a poor life is bad, and it makes them not value what they have. Therefore, it makes them stressed and angry, which increases the risk of getting a mental illness.
On the other hand, modern life also improves the quality of life. Modern technology has made people’s daily lives more convenient. For instance, instead of spending hours on washing clothes by themselves, people invented a washing machine. As a result, people don’t need to spend time on getting their clothes washed and freshened. Moreover, modern technology has provided us with better medicine. Nowadays, there are many different ways to fight viruses and illnesses. For instance, current medicine technologies offer more effective cancer treatments than in the past, which saves millions of lives around the world.
In conclusion, although modern life might make people more stressful, I believe that the benefits outweigh the drawbacks.
