Nowadays, because of the growth of communication technology and transportation, working and living in any place worldwide has become available to everyone. From my perspective, the benefits of such a development are more significant than its drawbacks as they are only true to a minor extent.
On the one hand, there is no denying that the development of communication technology and transportation is disadvantageous as it can make people prioritise their own countries’ growth less to a certain extent. The reason behind this is that people would be more engaged in international development, thereby losing dedication to developing their nation. However, this is not entirely true because the rise of communication technology and transportation still lets people simultaneously contribute to their countries’ development as well as that of the world in general. For instance, Zoom, a worldwide communication application, allows people to work not only in their countries but also in foreign ones.
On the other hand, the availability to work and live anywhere in the world thanks to the growth of communication technology and transportation is beneficial for having better cultural understanding as well as wider relationships. Regarding the former, people would be able to gain more knowledge of the countries they have worked in thanks to plane travel. This is because it allows people to travel to other countries to live, thereby gaining more knowledge about those countries’ cultures. Concerning the latter, social networks can help people expand their relationships with foreign friends. For example, Discord, an international social media website, allows users to communicate with each other from different countries so that they would have more foreign friends.
In conclusion, despite acknowledging the minor disadvantages of the fact that people are able to work and live in any country due to the development of communication technology and transportation, I assert that the advantages of this opportunity are of greater significance. As such, I agree that the latter outweighs the former.
