On the one hand, written mode of communication provides flexibility among individuals because of conveniency. For example, people can reply to them back according to their availability, if they are busy in work meetings, they do not have to be stop what they are doing to have a written conversation. In addition, texting is more cost effective compared to call. For example, students living in other countries, texting is beneficial option because of the cost, people can choose social media apps such as WhatsApp or Messenger to communicate using the internet.
On the other hand, there are plenty of disadvantages of written texts. Firstly, text messages are less suitable for confidential conversation and emergencies. For instance, this helps people to keep private talk in between themselves, and voice call allows people to explain situations more effectively. Secondly, voice calls provide clarity in conversation by eliminating the loss of emotional clarity. Meanwhile, by written communication people can misunderstand the tone or meaning of a message, but they can easily judge tone of people via phone calls.
