There is an ongoing debate whether personality depends on each individual’s mind, or it is influenced by environment, culture and various stages of life. I believe it is about the surroundings a person finds themselves in and I am going to provide explanation below.
To start with, the environment changes how people behave and think. When someone moves to a new school, it’s a completely different environment, meaning they have to find ways to fit in. For instance, if some individuals are surrounded by people, who appear to be more friendly, they will tend to be more open about themselves and it will be easier for them to make friends.
Nevertheless, life stages are also important, since they bring new roles and responsibilities, which the person has to keep up with. For example, teenagers tend to be more emotional, due to puberty, what can make it more challenging for them to deal with family issues and social life. However, when people get older they have different perspectives and they are more experienced, so their attitude towards to life changes, leading them to having a different personality.
In conclusion, I strongly believe that personality depends on the stages of life and the environment a person lives in, so it can develop and improve more throughout life.
