In the last years, there is a widespread concern about the pollution of air, water, and soil, which can take millions of years to be addressed. This issue stems from various factors. However, if some practices are implemented by individuals and governments , this problem can be solved.
The first underlying factor of pollution appear to be industrialization. Indeed, due to human greed and thoughtlessness, the number of factories is increasing, causing air pollution by generating gas emissions and leading to water and soil pollution by dumping their industrial waste in to the oceans or on the ground. Take oil industries as an example; these companies generate not only a huge amount of greenhouse gases, resulting in air pollution, but also producing detrimental waste by oil spills, resulting water and soil pollution. To contract this danger, the ruling classes of countries should deploy incentive schemes, to encourage companies to take action for environmental conservation. For example, they can reduce green taxes for factories which recycle their waste materials, and in contrast, penalize those which bend the rules and lead to pollution.
Another root of pollution stems from the growth of population. In other words, a larger population generally leads to increased consumption of resources and production of waste. For example, more people means more cars and garbage, which can result in pollution of air, soil, and water. To address this problem the onus is on the governments to improve urban and transport planning, and individuals are up to use public transportation, such as bus and subways, instead of their private cars, and they should also use eco-friendly products, such as biodegradable packaging.
To sum up, air, soil, and water pollutions are detrimental issues that can stem from the growth of industrialization and population. However, by devising initiatives for the factories, and improving urban and transport system by the governments, and using public transportation and eco-friendly products by individuals, this problem can be addressed.
