The given bar chart depicts the choice of vehicle from a car, a motorcycle or a bicycle by the young population of Australia, the US, Canada and New Zealand in the year 2000. The unit is measured in percentage of preferences.
Overall, it can be understood that in all the concerned countries, cars had been the most preferred vehicles compared to the motorcycles among the youth.
To begin with, 60% of the youngsters in Australia had shown an enormous fondness for cars while bicycles were their second favourite choice standing at a percentage of 50. Compared to all other nationalities, Australian youth least preferred motorbike at only one fifth. A similar trend existed in the United States where the car users stood tall at 80%. At the same time, motorcycle and bicycle preferences were at 25% and 60% respectively.
On the other hand, 50% of the young citizens of both Canada and New Zealand have opted for cars in the given time period. Youngsters from New Zealand prefer more motorbikes at 40%, compared to their counterparts from other countries. This trend is followed by Canada with 30 %. However, bicycles retain their position in both the countries at the second choice with 45% in New Zealand and 35% in Canada.
