Air pollution is one of the increasing problems faced by all the developed and developing countries. It is more likely to be caused by many factors like increased usage of vehicles, fuel adulteration and biomass burning. In my opinion, the inflation of air tickets to travel overseas does not control air pollution.
The need for travel has arisen among many people, be it for business or pleasure. So even though air ticket prices are increased, it does not affect the increase of passengers. So controlling the frequency of flight usage is not going to do much help in controlling air pollution.
Nowadays there is an increase in the number of people using private transport rather than public transport. As they can rely on it to be more convenient and save time. The usage of luxury cars is prominently seen, which causes more traffic congestion and an increase in air pollution in most metropolitan cities. This gives a view of the increase in land transportation rather than air transportation. Secondly, industries manufacturing electronic devices can emit more harmful gases into the air compared to the fumes emitted by flights. These factories are mostly present in major cities, which hopes to cultivate more income for the nation.
Though the increase in international flight prices might cut down some travellers, domestic travel has significantly seen more visitors rather than international. Due to it being more cost-efficient and time-manageable for individuals travelling for business. However, cutting down on international travel can affect the tourism industry of the country as all the developed country extracts major income through it, and it also causes negative consequences in for other industries as well.
