In today’s digital era, technology plays a essential role in our life, especially in education. School children’s of all ages now use technology with their studies. There are a bit concerns of it like; it reduce critical thinking, and health issues but, there are more positive sides such as; preparation for the future, global connection, and improve creativity.
On the one hand, one major disadvantage of technology is easily distract students. Nowadays many young learners spend their great deal of time to social media, video games and this cause less attention to the lessons and this reduce their critical thinking. For example I have one friend she studied very well before bought a phone. At her birthday her parents gave a new mobile phone to her. But after her marks turn to two. The reason for this her phone she didn’t attention to the lessons and only use AI technology’s to her homeworks only use Google, Chat Gpt, to her lessons and this cause reduce her knowledge. Another drawback related to health. Students spend their most of time to screens this cause our eyesight and less activity. Also it has worse effect to our brain.
On the other hand, technology offers many advantages. Firstly, it provides preparation for the future. Since digital literacy is key requirement in most careers, learning how to use computers at school equips young people with essential skills for the workplace. And state-of-the-art technology improve significantly and it learning AI technology helps them to find a job easily. Furthermore it improves global connection which students find friends without difficulty around the world. And this gives them connection around worlds all corner although it improves sociabilty that they speak with different nations this gives wide range of world view. Moreover, it boost creativity because most students do their presentations with cool design. Students can design presentations, videos, animations, or even code programs.
To conclude, technology in schools both have positive and negative sides. Drawbacks like cause health problems, and reduce critical thinking, however it have more advantages which outweight drawbacks like communication around the world, creativity, and even preparation for the future.
