Band 6+: Scientists agree that many people eat too much junk food and it is damaging their health. Some people think that this problem can be solved. Discuss both views and give your opinion.

Note: Both the topic and the essay were created by one of our users.

Scientists believe that in today’s society people are consuming excessive junk food, which can damage their health. It is thought that this issue can be addressed. In my opinion, while there may be some difficulties, such as changing habits, while solving this problem, I am convinced that it can be solved if there is enough education for the public.

There are some factors contributing to why solving the problem that people eat too much food may be impossible. Due to the fast-paced lifestyle, individuals have to work harder and harder in order to achieve their goals and make money to meet their basic living standards. This leads to why some of them may not have enough time for cooking, but being forced to buy junk food. This is because junk food is not only affordable and delicious for most people, it also helps to save a large amount of time, which they can spend on relaxing or continuing to work. Overtime, this activity becomes a habit of people, especially young employees, which they may not easily give up because of its convenience. Therefore, this issue may not be solved.

On the other hand, I still believe that this issue can be solved. It is certain that junk food is harmful to human’s healths, especially when eating too much, as it can increase the opportunities for obesity and cardiovascular disease. Moreover, people often want to be healthy instead of suffering from a lot of diseases. As a result, when providing enough knowledge about the disadvantages of junk food, people will automatically avoid consuming it. Besides that, governments can increase taxes on this type of food in order to reduce the amount of it on the markets, since companies will be more hesitant to produce. This may result in a decline in the number of people eating it. Consequently, this can prevent humans from consuming excessively.

In conclusion, because of the difficulties in changing people’s habits, solving this problem may seem impossible. However, I still think that with providing enough knowledge and reducing the amount of junk food through growth of taxes, this issue can be solved.
