There has been a great deal of heated debate about whether students should acquire knowledge of sex education. From my perspective, sex education plays a vital role due to its advantages for providing students with comprehensive awareness. Therefore, this should be taught at the ages of secondary or high school through realistic extracurricular activities.
It is true that sex education has positive impact on how students develop themselves in schools. Firstly, this type of education is likely to raise students’ awareness of gender and relationship. Through the comprehension of sexual information, students tend to understand fully about their bodies, genders so that they can have enough knowledge to be more confident and comfortable when considering sexual issues. Furthermore, this education also protects students from detrimental and negative effects from the outside world. From the understanding of genders, they tend to acquire appropriate knowledge and actions to keep them safer from pessimistic influences. For instance, sex education enables pupils to prevent sexual diseases or how they can have a healthy relationship without unexpected phenomena. Also, students acquired helpful knowledge can prevent the risk of being the victim of sexual situations, which reduces their depression and anxiety.
Personally, I believe that this education should be taught at schools for the whole students at suitable ages through realistic measures. Students from the middle to high school should be the objection to being educated about sex education. As students in this period of ages are becoming increasingly mature and they also have mature feelings, but they still do not have a comprehensive awareness or essential experiences. These sexual issues still are one of the problems that they may be curious about.Therefore, it rests with the experts invited by schools to educate and provide these students with useful knowledge about genders. To accomplish these tasks, schools should invite experts to help pupils to access helpful information about sex. For example, they can organise extracurricular classes for students to educate them by specific and meaningful activities.
In conclusion, sex education still plays a key role in educating and raising students’ awareness, especially in modern society. Therefore, schools should often organise supplementary activities or classes to teach students, from secondary to high school, the importance of genders in life.
