Band 5+: Should wealthy nations be required to share their wealth among poorer nations by providing such things as food and education? Or is it the responsibility of the governments of poorer nations to look after their citizens themselves?

Note: Both the topic and the essay were created by one of our users.

It is often argued whether rich countries should help under-developed poor by sharing resources, especially with foods and education. While some societies are wealthy, others have difficulties in meeting basic human needs. I strongly believe that developed countries should share helping hand to poor countries and in this essay, I will briefly discuss about my opinion.

To begin with, governments of poor nation should try to manage their infrastructure and resources they have available fairly and correctly. The governments should ensure the financial resources collected from wealthy countries be used to improve their respective citizen’s basic need such as building better schools and colleges, increase the food quality and be easily accessible to hospitals. Furthermore, the rich nations could help others by allowing their citizens to immigrate in, this way the unfortunate citizens gain an opportunity to improve their quality of life. For example, during covid pandemic, India shared its medical aid: PPE to everyone around the globe. This allowed under-developed countries to be stable amidst such terror. However, this is not only a one-sided transfer of resources and both countries gain a valuable item: trust.

As the developed countries have the biggest responsibility of carefully transfer funds while sharing experiences about enriching a nation, both rich and poor nation develop trust among themselves. In this journey of wealth, two countries establish correct economic relations which allows them to start various joint projects that benefit both nations. For instance, Bangladesh developed good relationship with its neighboring countries after their independence war. Such relationship later allowed Bangladesh to improve its citizen’s lifestyle with joint projects with India and China. This further supported the deepen their relationship.

In conclusion, in order to ensure that the world’s more livable infrastructure are used under equal conditions and that out future is sustainable, developed land should take initiative in two basic issues and provide the necessary backing to the people in need.
