There is a prevailing belief that the authorities should impose a ban on cigarettes and tobacco products due to their potential contribution to life-threatening conditions globally to safeguard public health. From my perspective, although entire prohibition may offer certain drawbacks, its benefits that it brings for public health are more significant.
Undeniably those who oppose this viewpoint may present several compelling reasons One significant rationale is that the companies selling smoke generate a significant sources of revenue for the government To clarify some nations may lose a billions of dollars from taxation of smoke each year As a result the developing nations struggle to fund essential community services and provide financial resources to important aspects such as education and healthcare system. Moreover, prohibiting cigarettes or tobacco products can devastate tobacco farming industry and related industries. Indeed, millions of workers in the supply chain from tobacco growers to workers are at higher risk of losing employment. This is particular concerning for rural communities, where livelihoods are heavily depends on tobacco cultivation and alternative employment are scare, thereby exacerbating socio-economic instability.
Despite these arguments, I firmly believe that imposing a ban on cigarettes brings far more substantial benefits. First and foremost, a ban on smoking can significantly reduce the incidence of life-threatening diseases. This is because, cigarettes and tobacco products are the leading cause to chronic illnesses such as lung cancer and cardiovascular disease, which are difficult to cure. As a result, banning smoking may save millions of lives worldwide. Secondly, banning smoking can prevent teenagers from developing lifelong addiction. To clarify, the youth often suffer from peer pressure and negatively affected by cigarette advertisement, this is particularly concerning for teenagers who lack parental care. As a result, prohibiting the sale of tobacco products can enable them to form positive lifestyles, creating a healthier generation.
In conclusion, although implementing a blanket ban on tobacco products may offer certain drawbacks, the remarkable advantages it brings for public health are far more crucial
