Social media has become an essential part of current life, influencing how humans connect, recourse information, and form thoughts.The purpose of this essay is to explore the advantages and disadvantages of social platform.

Nowadays social media is very common among people.Social networks have significant benefits such as communication without boundaries, always be aware of events, learn a lot and so on. The most important of them is to keep up to date with the latest news. Because, before the advent of social networks, we got our news from different sources of information.These days there is no need to visit news sites, individuals can uncomplicatedly find out what is happening on social apps.

However social media also has some major disadvantages like loss of real communication skills. When communicating on social networks, people often do not follow the rules of grammar and punctuation, emotions replaced with emoticons- all this negatively affects communication in the real world.For instance, we can notice that many teenagers add shortened words to their speech like “LOL”, “ROFL” and so on. All these words may seem uncomprehensible to adults, moreover, it greatly affects the development of speech.

To conclude, social media has certain disadvantages such as the loss of communication in real life, it has an extremely positive impact on society and helps people learn a lot of information and be aware of latest events.I believe that these beenfits of social networks outweigh its drawbacks.
