Imagine a society without rules and laws, will everyone be treated equally? Will everyone’s life and freedom be safeguarded? I could barely believe it. I agree that regulations are important to the community, and here are the reason why.
Firstly, rules and laws ensure safety of the society. It controls people from comitting inappropriate or criminal activities such as murder, theft, robbery, assault, because people understand the cost they have to bear is huge when involving in these behaviour. No matter is engaging in a lawsuit, paying compensation, or being put into jail. We consider these punishments as an unbearable cost. Hence people would less likely take the risk to cross over the line.
In addition, ordinance provide justice to everyone regardless of people’s economic class, nationality, ethinicity. Under law, our personal rights like freedom to express, freedom of religion could be protected. It provides the opportunity for citizens to exercise their power to speak up when they encounter injustice events. Using racism as an example, if a person is being verbally or physically harassed by other due to his or her race, the victim have the right to actually sue others. Ordinance maintain a harmonious community for us to live in.
Thirdly, regulations promote the growth of the society. The reason why we establish commercial and business law, is because these regulations promotes the transparency of business transactions. Considering a property transaction, both landlords and tenants have to sign contracts or terms and condition to ensure the rights and responsibility of both parties. Hence people will be encouraged to engage in economic activites.
In conclusion, it is agreed that rules and laws are crucial to protect the society from political disorder, safety; to secure personal freedom and rights.
